February 2025
The west coast of Vancouver Island is famous for wild storms at this time of year. Gale force winds, huge waves and torrential rain. We did arrive at Cox Bay just south of Tofino in a record breaking snow storm with some awesome surf. However, from that point on we had unseasonable calm, clear and dry weather. Go figure! We still managed to have a wonderful time even with this "horrible weather". We started the trip with a couple of days in Victoria at Abigail's Hotel before heading over the mountains to the coast. The next ten days were divided between the Long Beach Lodge on Cox Bay and the Wickaninnish Inn on Chesterman Beach. We wraped up the trip with another 2 days in Victoria, this time at The Empress.
I'm still going to call this page "Storm Watching" :)
